Family Thank You
LG, starting pitcher
Palmdale PONY Baseball
League,  Bronco Division.
Greg Harris, Jr., better known as “LG”, moved to Palmdale, California with his
family when he was in the second grade.  Maintaining the Honor Roll year after year,
LG is an excellent student who has always been a positive role model to his peers.

Loyal to his family and friends, he has touched the hearts of many. A great athlete
who’s been active in baseball and basketball, he manages to speak words of
praise and encouragement to others who aren’t so great. He’s always courteous
and never disrespectful.

Some of his special interests include:  baseball, basketball, and fishing, model
cars, creating his own fashion and building his own gadgets.  He loves singing and
dancing and just making people happy.

Always obeying rules and staying out of trouble in school and at home, LG has
always had a flawless reputation, until one tragic night.

An Imperfect Self Defense
On the night of April 12, 2005, a tragic incident occurred at the Palmdale Pony
Baseball Field after LG’s game.  He walked to the concession stand joining his
teammates to get a hot dog and a drink.  Jeremy Rourke, 15 years old, 5’10” and
weighing 190 pounds, approached LG, 13 years old, 5’1” and weighing only 87
pounds at that time.  Jeremy said to LG, “Nigger don’t cut”, and then assaulted LG
by shoving him multiple times, not teasing him as the media continues to report.
